About David

David was a classically trained dancer who won a scholarship to the School of The Arts.  He became an Arthur Murray dance instructor in his early 20's and still loves to cut a rug with anyone who likes to dance.  David has also performed as lead singer and/or guitar player in many bands over the years from his Battle of the Bands winning band, Badge, to the most recent band, The Moans. This experience gives him a unique insight into what people want to hear to have a great time!

David has DJ'ed numerous weddings, parties and corporate events in his "shhh" years as a DJ.  David had to pay off a PA system bought for David's band, Four on the Floor, in 1989.  David's older brother came home from Japan talking about this new fad they called Karaoke.  The idea seemed a perfect way to make money.  David started off with cassette tapes with printed lyrics until the technology for the CD+G hit the market.

After many articles were written about him in the News and Observer, Independent and several other publications, David was highly sought after to host many exciting events.  Some of the more memorable ones were the very first Jimmy V Golf Tournament party, The Governor's Party, and a huge show at Walnut Creek with Oldies 100.7 that featured the Mamas and the Papas, BJ Thomas, Three Dog Night, The Spinners and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap! We can't forget to mention the numerous years spent at the Oldies' 100.7 Booth at the NC State Fair.  David set the standards for professionalism in how a karaoke show should be run.  The emphasis is always more on fun than on talent.  Thirty some years later, it's still going strong!

David has also been heavily involved in fighting piracy in the industry.  If you are looking for a fun, energetic, professional and legal karaoke show, it's gotta be Original Super Karaoke!
